I love to draw and sketch. I much prefer that than painting, although painting is fun too. I saw this woman in Rockefeller Center and loved the way the lights lit up her face. In spite of all the hustle and bustle she appeared very peaceful watching the ice skaters in the rink below. Perhaps she was thinking about the dinner she was going to prepare later, or about a faraway homeland. The drawing is on 11x14 archival drawing paper and can be found on my website.

I call this painting "The Joker." I painted it while visiting in St Thomas, USVI. There happened to be a carnival going on and I did several paintings based on the characters and costumes I saw. This painting is done on 140 lb Lanaquarelle watercolor paper. The size is 22x30 inches.
The world was shocked in the late 1950’s when a primate who could make art was first introduced. TV’s everywhere showed, Congo, a chimpanzee at the London Zoo, and his art creations. Eventually, art institutions everywhere began to display paintings done by animals.

I got to my studio around 4:00 this afternoon and decided to paint something fun. So, I started on this camel I saw at Safari Park in VA, when we were there. It was a great day, our granddaughter was feeding the animals through the open window of my car and they slobbered all over the place. Months later, after many washings, I still found animal slobber. I haven't finished the painting, as you can tell. I'll finish it and post the result next week. Maybe I'll name it after our granddaughter.

This man was in a restaurant in Columbia, CA. He was sitting at a table with friends, each one of them more sketchable than the other. I used non-permanent ink and applied water to it later.
I’m dealing with a lousy cold, and feel like a toad. I promise that tidbit is the last of my prose for today. My vocabulary seems to have been reduced to moaning and groaning so, I will keep this post short and sweet. Otherwise, you might hear me moan in print.
