"Paintings With Personality"

This is going to be my new art studio. The patio doors were there originally, but not the windows. I'm planning to put my easel by the left window. Looks like I won't move in until sometime after Thanksgiving.

I’m the one doing the venting. The past week was completely insane and the coming week promises to be no better. Last June, I agreed to do a watercolor demonstration on November 12, and in October, I agreed to do another demo for a different organization on November 15^th.  I had talked with a contractor, in August, about turning our family room into an art studio, and gave him a deposit to do the work. Honey and I talked to a deck builder in September, and gave him a deposit. Everyone, including a plumber, decided to show up on the same week as my demos! It must be Murphy’s Law!

I was afraid to tell the contractor and deck builder that it wasn’t a good week for me. I might not have heard from them again for months. Just to make the timing worse, next week is Thanksgiving and our son and his wife will be here. Yep, Murphy’s Law.

I'm having some work done upstairs as well. This picture is of the kitchen and dining room.

I have found renovating the house stressful, dirty, and time consuming. This is only their 8^th day to work and it already seems endless. At the moment, my house, my life and my sanity are being tested. It’s like going on vacation, dreaming and planning about a trip, are better than the actual event. I am feeling scattered all over the place and I’m wondering why in the world I wanted a larger studio.

All I can do now is push on, and look for a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m sure (I hope) it will be worth it in the end, when I’m working in my new, larger and well-lit space. Please comment below.

The only way I can connect this vent with art is to say, “Art is my solace.” When I go to my studio and turn on my favorite blues music, I forget everything. Later, Judy
