Here is my dad at his 95th birthday party. He is pretty pleased about being kissed by his granddaughter.
My dad turned 95 this month. We had a big backyard party at my sister’s in California; with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren coming from Washington, New Jersey and Virginia. Dad had a great time making jokes, opening gifts and putting on a show for everyone. He loves an audience, is still active, lives at home, and takes care of himself and his two dogs. Meet my niece. I painted her on 18x24 watercolor paper.
When traveling, I always put my toiletries in my carry-on luggage. That way, I’ll have it if my baggage gets lost. The liquids and creams are heavy and I have to take them out of the bag and put them on the belt to be scanned. In short, they are a pain in the neck but I need them when I reach the destination. This "comfortable" guy was hammering away at a forge in the tourist attraction of Mystic Seaport, CT. I say comfortable because the day was chilly and he was working by the fire with glowing iron. I loved working out the value patterns in this painting. The extreme lights and darks were marvelous.

Driving on the left in Wales
Honey and I have been visiting in Wales and England for the past two weeks. We landed at Heathrow in London, rented a car; and in the course of the two weeks put over 1000 miles on the car. First we went to Wales where we stayed a week, then we went to Bath, Amesbury, and Dover in England.
We were driving on the left in both countries; with the steering wheel on the right and shifting with the left hand. We both learned how to drive on the left years ago when we lived in Japan. [...]
