When my husband and I were visiting in Peru, this man, talking through an interpreter, answered many questions we asked about life in Peru. From him, we learned that he had an 8th-grade education and that children would soon be required to attend school through 12th grade. He voluntarily put up with us in order to get a loaf of bread.
