Opaque watercolor on paper
Two of our grandchildren were here last week to decorate Easter eggs. I gave them acrylic paints, food coloring, glitter, sequins, whatever I could find around the house. They put on their aprons and made Razzle Dazzle! Those eggs became anything and everything their minds could imagine. Their creativity was inspiring. How about you, is the work you are creating inspiring?

Here is one of my watercolor's done on a full sheet of Arches paper.
Critiquing our own work can make us dizzy, especially if we try to be ‘honest’. Let’s face it, we’ve worked hard on a painting and now we have to tear it apart and look for anything and everything that might be wrong with it. As artists, we can become so involved in our work and put so many hours into a painting, we don’t want to know when the painting isn’t working.

That doesn't mean artists don't need a good critique, every artist needs constructive criticism. As visual artists we always try to improve and grow and one of the best ways to improve our artwork is to get feedback from others. Most people easily accept compliments but taking criticism is a little tougher to digest. [...]

A few more members of my critique group
As an advocate of the Big Mac Aesthetic, I feel that the subaqueous qualities of the spatial relationships endangers the devious simplicity of the essentially transitional quality.
Huh??? That’s supposed to be a critique? An art critique is to point out the powerful areas in a painting as well as it’s less certain aspects in terms that can be understood. ART VERSUS PORNORGRAPHY
