These are two notan designs I did today. The subject is the same in both. I'll post the painting based on the vertical next Monday. I think I'll paint the horizontal as well, I liked them both.
Honey has a tendency to see things in black and white. I, on the other hand, see all manner of shades in just about everything. I'm still showing you some sketches I did when in Peru. This one is along the Amazon River
Honey and I were gone most of the summer and part of the fall. With so much travel and needing to catch up on daily life when we were home, I had no time to paint. Now, because I allowed myself to get too busy, I’m feeling very tired and uninspired.
My extremely active summer is why I’ve chosen the topic of inspiration for this blog. I think every artist, at some time or other, experiences the emptiness that comes with a lack of inspiration. [...]

Competition occurs when people reach for the same goals. There aren’t many things in life that can be achieved without competing for them. People in the workplace compete for promotions; siblings rival one another for their parent’s attention, sports are always competitive, and, etc. How to handle competition and learn and grow from the experience is even taught in our schools.

Here is an image from my sketchbook done on a recent trip to Peru
I was supposed to be back posting my blog yesterday. Sunday I came down with a ‘knock me down and run me over with a truck’ head cold that kept me in bed for three days. Honey took very good care of me so I’m out of bed but still have a hacking, screeching cough. Monday, I’ll be back with a real post.
